As a Corrections Counselor 2, you will provide counseling and casework services to inmates who demonstrate disruptive, violent, or insubordinate behaviors and adjustment issues.
You will use group or individual counseling methods to help inmates experiencing difficulty while adjusting to institutionalized living, assist inmates with emotional problems, and enable inmates to develop a sense of dignity and responsibility.
You will also utilize aptitude and interest tests, demographic histories, psychological evaluations, and multi-disciplinary team input to determine recommended treatments.
This role requires a a genuine desire to facilitate behavioral change that promotes successful reintegration.
In addition, you will participate in parole planning and make recommendations regarding re-entry services and community placement.
