This job involves teaching barbering skills to inmates in a Pennsylvania state prison, including classroom lessons, hands-on training, and preparing them for licensing exams to help them gain a useful trade.
A good fit would be someone with barber teaching experience who is patient, enthusiastic about education, and committed to making a positive impact on people's lives through skill-building in a secure environment.

As a Corrections Barber Instructor, you will provide classroom and on-the-job training to inmate students attending barber school.
You will develop and administer the barber training program, document inmate training progress, and ensure compliance with all policies pertaining to inmate grooming, including access to barber services.
This role requires the ability to form effective working relationships and a genuine desire to help inmates learn the standard practices, methods, and techniques necessary to excel in the barber trade.
In addition, you will schedule inmate students to take the Barber License test, requisition all materials and supplies used during classroom instruction, and maintain the barber school in accordance with all laws, regulations, and guidelines.
