This job is for a Cook 1 position with the Pennsylvania State Police, where you'll prepare and serve meals like soups, entrees, and desserts for academy trainees and staff, while also handling kitchen cleanup and food storage tasks.
It's a full-time role with rotating shifts, including weekends, and no option for remote work.
A good fit would be someone with at least one year of hands-on experience in food preparation and serving, who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment and can handle physical tasks like lifting and standing for long periods.

As a Cook 1, you will prepare menu items such as soups, stews, gravies, casseroles, entrees, vegetables, and desserts as directed.
Your duties will include transferring food product containers from the storage area, freezer, and walk-in refrigerators to the preparation areas, as well as placing food items into and out of ovens.
In this position, you will serve prepared menu items, either through a service line or individually waiting on tables.
While standing and participating in the food serving line, you will ensure plates, bowls, trays, and pans are relocated accordingly to maintain adequate supplies for serving.
You can expect to carry trays and hot plates with meals to the dining area when serving special guests or dignitaries at the academy.
Additionally, you will clean the kitchen, dining rooms, dish rooms, storage areas, and any other related areas.
