As a Cook 1, you will perform food service duties in an institutional setting, providing meals for trainees, staff, and guests.
Your primary responsibilities will include preparing a variety of menu items such as soups, stews, casseroles, and desserts while managing the transfer of ingredients from storage freezers and refrigerators to the preparation and cooking areas.
Additionally, you will facilitate meal service by operating service lines or providing individual table service.
This work includes maintaining adequate supplies of plates and trays and personally serving special guests or dignitaries.
Ensuring a sanitary environment is a core requirement; you will be responsible for cleaning the kitchen, dining areas, and storage rooms, as well as operating and maintaining all specialized food service equipment.
This role is vital to daily operations of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, requiring physical stamina and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and service.
