Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading and managing large-scale contracts for naval ship design, construction, and modifications within the U.S. Navy's contracting team.

You'll plan acquisitions, negotiate deals, solve contract issues, and work closely with government, military, and industry partners to ensure projects run smoothly.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as a CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the CONTRACTS DIRECTORATE of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 band level (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, directing, or coordinating acquisitions and interpreting statue and regulations to provide advice for procurement and contracting elements of program planning.

  • You will be responsible for directing and coordinating all the contracting efforts for the design, design changes and construction of assigned programs.
  • You will plan and execute all contractual actions and phases for a major program.
  • You will assess long and short-term program needs and balance those requirements with the productivity and effectiveness of team personnel to accomplish contract award objectives.
  • You will conduct and manage the overall work of the team in the planning, negotiation, and administration of the procurements related to their program.
  • You will coordinate and liaise with internal and external customers across a broad spectrum of government employees, military members,consultants, and contractors in DoD, other government organizations, and industry.
  • You will serve as a recognized authority to develop and implement recommendations and solutions to contract problems, risks, and outcomes in the pre-award and post-award procedures.
