Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing government contracts from start to finish, including planning purchases, negotiating deals, overseeing contractor performance, and handling contract endings for the U.S.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for pre-award, post award, administration and closeout of a variety of contracts.
  • You will negotiate settlements, recommend assessment of liquidated damages for nonperformance, prepare show cause or cure notices, prepare terminations for default or convenience and negotiate contract settlements.
  • You will monitor contractor performance in relation to the completion schedule required by the contract, ensuring timely submission of receiving reports and take appropriate actions to expedite delivery or performance.
  • You will plan the procurement action with customers, legal, and contracting.
  • You will ensure appropriate funding and required waivers, certifications, approvals and compliances have been obtained for the purchase request.
  • You will perform the development, justification, coordination, and completion of a large number and variety of procurement transactions from time of receipt, to award, administration, and close out.
