About the Position: Serves as a Contact Representative in the Referral Management Center (RMC) located at the MEDDAC-B headquarters.

Performs a variety of functions and remedies issues in support of the MTF referral management and tracking process.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing information about medical benefits authorized or availability of medical services; reviewing or submitting referrals for medical services; AND assisting in resolving patient issues related to medical benefits or debts.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

Major Duties:

  • Assist with Referral Processing including but not limited to determining referral dispositions, tracking referral status, attaining results, closing referrals, downloading, uploading and processing of Host nation referral cases.
  • Review all incoming CLRs for accuracy, completeness and legibility and then upload the report to the patient's electronic medical record (Military Health System Genesis).
  • Ensure all internal and external specialty referrals are appropriately closed with either completed results or appropriate administrative closure.
  • Identify clinics with access issues or vacancies and provides support and guidance assistance during this time.
  • Interact with and counsel all MEDDAC-B Tricare Service Centers on status of medical records, urgent medical records request, and EFMP issues.
