About the Position: This position is located at the 30th Medical Group, Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates.

Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes serving as a point of contact related to benefits program matters, resolving problems for beneficiaries, and educating beneficiaries on care benefits.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Major Duties:

• Provide Individual and Group Counseling and Briefings to the full spectrum of TRICARE Beneficiaries. Specific requirements include an annual Retiree Open house.
• Explain what costs and responsibilities must be borne by beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Prime and/or Select.
• Provide information on covered health care services and services excluded from TRICARE program and how these benefits integrate with other health care sources.
• Maintain a continuing cooperative relationship with various agencies.
• Provide reports to leadership on numbers and categories of complaints/issues/actions.
• Ensure health benefit information is available for beneficiaries and serves as beneficiary advocate and problem-solver providing dedicated service to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries.
