Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping military personnel, retirees, and their families understand and access TRICARE health benefits by providing counseling, briefings, and support on covered services and costs.

It requires resolving issues for beneficiaries and educating them on program details, often in group settings like open houses.

A good fit would be someone with strong customer service skills, patience for handling inquiries, and experience in benefits or healthcare support, especially those eligible under veterans or military spouse preferences.

Key Requirements

About the Position: This position is located at the 30th Medical Group, Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates.

Major Duties:

  • Provide Individual and Group Counseling and Briefings to the full spectrum of TRICARE Beneficiaries. Specific requirements include an annual Retiree Open house.
  • Explain what costs and responsibilities must be borne by beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Prime and/or Select.
  • Provide information on covered health care services and services excluded from TRICARE program and how these benefits integrate with other health care sources.
  • Maintain a continuing cooperative relationship with various agencies.
  • Provide reports to leadership on numbers and categories of complaints/issues/actions.
  • Ensure health benefit information is available for beneficiaries and serves as beneficiary advocate and problem-solver providing dedicated service to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries.
