Full Job Description

This position is part of the Department of War (DoW), Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for developing and managing a formal configuration management program.

You may qualify at the NH-04 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 2 of the 3 specialized experience listed below to be qualified: Managing Configuration & Data Management processes.

Working with Department of War (DoW) industry partners and suppliers. Experience with Configuration Management Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

As a Configuration Management Specialist at the NH-0301-4 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Plans, manages, coordinates, and reviews the efforts of contractors and government personnel engaged in configuration documentation/data management to include product configuration identification documentation, configuration status accounting, standardization, serialization, nomenclature, engineering release, implementation of change control procedures, and establishment of technical data management programs throughout MDA systems and subsystems cycles.

Coordinates and reviews Specification Change Notices (SCNs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Value Engineering Change Proposals (VECPs) for adequacy of detail and completeness.

Incorporates changes into the correct documentation record.

Provide support to the Configuration Control Board providing expert guidance and assistance in configuration management,engineering release and change control.

Identifies and establishes overall configuration identification documentation requirement baseline which includes identifying and specifications, drawings, and associated documents which in turn defines the precise configuration of spares/repair parts/components, etc.

Synthesizes, consolidates, and integrates results of review and prepares required corrective actions for approval by higher management.

Serves as an expert before the Specification Data Requirements Review Board. Represents the organization at meeting on configuration management both within and outside the agency.
