The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) has an exciting opportunity for a candidate with experience providing internal and external customer support . USBE is seeking a Computer Support Technician that will be responsible for managing core services, maintaining client systems and managing multiple cloud-based technologies, such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Cloud, Adobe Cloud, and other offerings.

Principal Duties
  • Provision, repair, and configure client computer systems, end-user devices, and related accessories.
  • Manage user accounts and aid with various cloud and software applications.
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting system and account issues.
  • Act as resource for managing, responding to and assigning internal IT help desk tickets and issues.
  • Support user hardware and software needs via telephone and remote connection/access tools.
  • Manage workflow through internal ticketing system.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentations for company policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine PC, Apple, printers, and related device maintenance and updates for performance efficiency.
  • Ask questions and get information to diagnose computer problems and discern what level of support is needed when a problem is presented.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree or higher in an IT related field.
  • Microsoft, Google, CompTIA and/or other IT related certifications.
  • 4+ years of IT experience with at least 2 year of client support experience.
  • Broad knowledge and expertise in multiple enterprise core services technologies.
  • Able to recognize forward-looking business needs along with industry, business and IT trends.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong prioritization skills – organized and efficient.
  • Communicating in language that non-tech people can understand.
  • Ability to manage relationships while demonstrating persistence and problem-solving.
  • Ability to adapt to new and changing situations.
  • Experience in server technologies a plus.
  • Experience in Agile/Kanban teams a plus.
  • Experience in dev-ops environment a plus.

  • Backs up computer data periodically to prevent unwanted data losses.
