This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

It is located in the DISA EIC/ENTERPRISE ENGINEERNG DIR - MODELING & SIM ANALYSIS DIV (ORG OE33). In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements: For the GS-1550 Computer Science Series: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.

All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as experience conducting technology project management aspects in project planning, acquisition processes, and software and systems development life cycles, such as requirements analysis, design, testing, implementation, and fielding or experience with software or systems engineering aspect such as systems documentation, configuration management, standards, system integration, security architecture, cost analysis, data administration, systems integration, and testing.

• Serves as a project management engineer performing technical consultation and/or program coordinator-reviewer services for the organization and manages major elements of the organization’s assigned program segment(s).
• Formulates, guides, or directs analytical studies to develop strategies for achieving approved long- range objectives in advancing the state-of-the-art in test and evaluation technologies, methodologies, and facilities.
• Develops and correlates research objectives; and originates new concepts, methods, and techniques for research planning, program guidance, program evaluation, technological forecasting, and resource allocation.
• Conducts system tests and evaluations and coordinates technical installation planning by aligning future programs with projected requirements, available resources, and scientific discoveries
