Job Description

Summary

This job is for a Community Corrections Officer in Washington state's Department of Corrections, based in Kennewick, where you'll supervise offenders in the community to ensure they follow their release conditions and stay on track for rehabilitation.

It's a full-time role with a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule, focused on public safety and offender support.

A good fit would be an experienced corrections professional already working permanently in a similar role within the department, looking to transfer locations without starting over.

  • Must be requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the WFSE Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Must be a permanent employee of the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC)
  • Must currently hold permanent status in the Community Corrections Officer job class
  • Must be in a position represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE)
  • Available to work full-time Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility based on unit needs
  • Willing to work out of the Kennewick office in Washington

Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) - Position SH52
EWCCVP – Z03 - Kennewick, WA

The Community Corrections Division has a permanent, full time Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) opening available. This position, SH52, is with EWCCVP unit Z03, located out of the Kennewick office in Kennewick, WA.

The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor. If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.

Qualifications

In accordance with Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY. Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:

  • You are requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
  • You are a permanent DOC employee.
  • You currently hold permanent status in the job class being recruited for in this job posting.
  • You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
