Job Description
Summary
This job is for a Community Corrections Officer in a special unit handling assault cases in Pierce County, Washington, where you'll supervise offenders and ensure community safety during regular daytime hours.
It's an internal transfer opportunity only for current permanent employees in the Washington Department of Corrections who are part of the WFSE union.
A good fit would be someone already experienced in corrections work, reliable, and looking to move within the department without changing their union status.

Community Corrections Officer 2 - Position TR17 and TR18
Pierce County Special Assault Unit - South
Lakewood, WA
The Community Corrections Division has two (2) permanent, full-time Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) openings available. These positions, TR17 and TR18, are within the Pierce County Special Assault Unit South, which is located in Lakewood, WA.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor.
If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.
Qualifications
In accordance with WFSE Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY.
Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:
- You are requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
- You are a permanent DOC employee.
- You currently hold permanent status in the job class being recruited for in this job posting.
- You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
