Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by1.) Performing communications systems inspections, conducting interviews, and analyzing information obtained to complete various communication security (COMSEC) reports; 2.) Interpreting and applying security policies to ensure proper handling of classified COMSEC material and equipment; 3.) Processing defective equipment for the safe, secure and recorded receipt, transfer and repair of COMSEC material to the COMSEC Material Issuing Office (CMIO), CRYPTO Repair Facility (CRF) and into the Defense Courier Service (DCS).

  • You will authorize and direct the issue of COMSEC material and/or equipment to assigned Local Element (LE) user commands and ensures follow-up replacement material is on hand.
  • You will prepare, review, and update future COMSEC allowances for all LE user commands including Special Operation requirements.
  • You will maintain all required files and directives regarding COMSEC material.
  • You will ensure specific written instructions regarding proper storage handling requirements are provided to LEs and users to include: local location of files, inventories of material and a general brief of COMSEC activities.
  • You will provide training to personnel handling COMSEC material to ensure they are familiar with and adhere to all COMSEC procedures.
