This position is located in the Communications and Marketing Department, Immediate Office, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House).

Qualifications: Applicants must submit a resume and writing sample (e.g., a press release or blog post), and meet the following requirements: Minimum: · Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Advertising, Marketing; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 8-10 years of experience in marketing/communications with an advertising agency, on Capitol Hill, or within a marketing and communications department.

· 3-5 years of progressive management or leadership experience. · Experience with marketing campaign management. · Strong understanding of branding strategies.

· Ability to understand analytics and collect data to drive communications decisions.

· Knowledge of project management tools (e.g.: ClickUp, Monday, Trello, etc.) · All employees within CAO are expected to demonstrate the following general competencies: Accountability, Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Customer Orientation, Knowledge of Relevant Policies, Procedures, and Processes, Priority Management, and Problem Resolution.

Major Duties:

Job Summary: The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff.

The CAO organization comprises more than 800 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

This position is located in the Communications and Marketing Department, Immediate Office, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House).

Whether it's creating a campaign to advertise the popular CAO House Staff Conferences, assisting a CAO department on messaging around their newest service for the House community, or guiding the editorial team through the Congressional Transition, the Communications Director will play a key role on the Communications and Marketing team and CAO at-large.

Working alongside the Creative Director, the Communications Director will keep a pulse on what the House campus is buzzing about, the latest trends, and creative new opportunities to reach House staff.

The best fit for this role is someone who can work under tight deadlines while handling multiple projects, knows the power of data-centered campaigns, and wants to lead a highly creative editorial team.

Key responsibilities include supervising the editorial team; working closely with the Chief of Communications to create and execute high-priority communication plans for specific projects and customers; collaborating with the Creative Director to ensure alignment between the communications team and the design team.

The position has day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: · Manages the communications team and monitor deadlines for all communications projects.

This includes but is not limited to copy editing and strategic planning.

· Coordinates with the Creative Director to ensure the communications and design team members are aligned on projects, deadlines, and other important information that could impact the deliverable(s).

· Collaborates with leaders across the CAO to brand and market products and services; serves as a partner with CAO business units as they plan, develop, and implement new products and services for the House community.

· Collaborates with the Communications Chief and Creative Director to identify opportunities for new communications initiatives.

· Collaborates with the editorial team to provide consultative services to CAO departments about their communications projects.

· Develops, composes, and executes comprehensive communications plans for CAO services and initiatives targeted at increasing awareness and usage by Members, Committees, and Leadership.

· Assists in the writing and copy editing of the CAO’s Semiannual Report. · Tracks and utilizes analytics for CAO communications. · Develops performance plans and evaluates employee performance.

· Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned.
