General Experience: To qualify applicants must possess one year of general experience performing progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled such as, verifying vendor invoices for accuracy, placing orders for a store, creating price labels, preparing cash collection vouchers and deposit slips.

OR Education: Two years of education above the high school level, obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You Must Submit a Copy of Your Transcripts).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Skills Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Manages and Organizes Information Major Duties:

  • Receive merchandise requisitions and place orders accordingly, posting orders placed to an automated register for merchandise order tracking.
  • Monitor daily reconciliation of funds due from the distributor to identify discrepancies.
  • Process a variety of accounting documents including but not limited to Report of Deposit, Vendor Credit Memorandums, charge account requests, and dishonored checks.
  • Ensure an adequate stock of administrative and operating supplies are maintained and available at all times for utilization.
  • Prepare documents to report lost, damaged, or destroyed property and equipment.
  • Operate automated systems for recording prices, printing price listings, and creating new shelf labels.
  • Perform price look-up file maintenance for item price changes utilizing experience and knowledge of computer operating programs.
  • Monitor all personnel actions to ensure suspense dates are met and actions are completed.
