This job involves handling basic office tasks like maintaining accounts, updating prices, and managing stock in a military grocery store to keep operations running smoothly.
It's an entry-level role where you'll use computers to enter data, verify invoices, and create labels while occasionally walking around the store for inventories.
A good fit would be someone with basic clerical experience or some college education who is detail-oriented, physically able to lift up to 40 pounds, and comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment.
The primary purpose of the Commissary Support Clerk is Perform a variety of store-level work associated with accounts and price maintenance for the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility.

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0303 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.

Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position (general experience).
OR Education: Two (2) full years of successfully completed education above high school at an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college, or university.

OR Combination of experience and education: To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your semester hours by 60 and add the two percentages.
If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
Examples of qualifying experience include: Managing a commissary store, supermarket, or similar type of commercial retail food store. Managing a department in a retail food store.
Planning, standardizing, or controlling operations in an assigned group of retail food stores.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: (1) Stand, stoop, kneel, bend and climb for prolonged periods.
(2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance.

Perform basic account maintenance procedures to ensure files, logs, and reports are complete. Ensure adequate stock and operating supplies are maintained.
