This job involves driving trucks to deliver and pick up supplies for a prison commissary warehouse, handling inventory tasks like loading and unloading, and training inmates on proper procedures.
It's a hands-on role in a correctional setting where you'll also maintain vehicles and ensure secure operations.
A good fit would be someone reliable with trucking experience, comfortable working around inmates, and physically able to handle heavy lifting.
Under general supervision responsible for the delivery/pickup of products as directed by the warehouse manager or designee.
Accountable for the receipt, storage, shipping, loading/unloading of products and supplies in a correctional distribution setting.
Train and supervise inmates in correct procedures.
Perform routine daily vehicle maintenance.
Responsible for the security and safekeeping of vehicles and tools.
Ensure required delivery paperwork is properly completed.
Drive and/or work in other areas include warehouse assistance.
Position requires a class "A" commercial driver's license.
Schedule subject to change to meet agency demands.
Attach 10 yr driving record to application.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience.
Must have a Commercial Driver's License - Class "A" without restrictions.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
