The College Access Coordinator helps run programs that make higher education more reachable for South Carolinians, especially those from underserved groups like low-income or first-generation students, by managing events, workshops, and initiatives to boost college applications and financial aid completions.

This is an internal posting, only current South Carolina Commission on Higher Education employees will be considered. Assist with the management of College Application Month/Season both to ensure alignment with CHE initiatives and increase the number of South Carolinians, especially from underserved and underrepresented populations, completing applications to a postsecondary institution.
The College Access Coordinator will assess needs and help develop initiatives as appropriate to expand college access opportunities to high school students and non-traditional learners.
Assist with the effective management of College Application Month/Season in alignment with strategic goals, as evidenced by.
Oversight of College Goal South Carolina/ FAFSA First Program both to ensure alignment with CHE initiatives and increase the number of South Carolinians, especially from undeserved and underrepresented populations, pursuing postsecondary education.
This includes co-lead responsibility of FAFSA Completion related projects.
Plan and implement college access programs, workshops, and events and develop annual program goals and track measurable outcomes.
Use of data systems to monitor program effectiveness in increasing FAFSA completions.
Assist with the development of, in collaboration with the larger higher education community, new initiatives, programs, and events aligned to CHE strategic plan designed to increase access to postsecondary education for all South Carolinians, especially those from underserved and underrepresented populations.
Travel to high schools and higher education institutions in support of afternoon/evening activities designed to educate constituents on importance of college admissions, financial and other areas of the college access process.
