Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a clinical psychologist at a military hospital, focusing on assessing and treating mental health issues in children and teens, including crisis support for them and their families.

You'll create treatment plans, evaluate patient progress, and conduct evaluations to help those facing psychological stress.

About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Behavioral Health at Womack Army Medical Center At Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing assessments for psychological disorders of children and/or adolescent patients; evaluating effectiveness of patient treatment plans; analyzing patient assessments relating to the psychological functioning of children and/or adolescents.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Develop objective treatment processes, procedures, and goals for patients.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings and presentations.
  • Monitor and evaluate completeness of patient intake.
  • Perform biopsychosocial evaluations.
  • Provide crisis intervention for children, adolescents, and family members undergoing unusual psychologically related stresses.
