Summary

This job involves working as a neuropsychologist at a military medical center, where you'll assess patients with brain injuries and mental health issues, create treatment plans, and consult with other doctors to help soldiers and their families.

About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Neuropsychologist): Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.

or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting psycho-diagnostic or neuropsychological assessments; formulating treatment plans; and providing consultations regarding assessment findings to patient, family members, or staff.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Licensure Requirement: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S.

State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Major Duties:

  • Provide neuropsychological screening and assessment to patients seen in the medical center.
  • Screen and assess patients with a wide range of neuropsychological disorders to include Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Psychological Health issues.
  • Formulate behavioral health interventions appropriate to a primary care setting and implementation and monitoring of treatment plans.
  • Provide professional consultation to other health providers such as psychiatrists, neurologists, and/or neurosurgeons.
  • Administer and score psychological tests.
  • Assist in developing presentations for classes and programs relevant to neuropsychology and conditions such as TBI, PTSD, and chronic pain.
