Summary

This job involves working as a clinical psychologist at a military medical facility in Hawaii, where you'll assess and treat mental health issues for service members and their families using proven therapy methods.

About the Position: This position is located at the 15th Medical Group Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Deliver evidence-based biopsychosocial assessment, treatment, and prevention of mental health conditions.
  • Provide individual and group treatment, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes.
  • Conduct mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
  • Assess and provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions, and mental health issues affecting medical conditions to include assessment and disposition of beneficiaries with acute and chronic risk.
  • Provide treatment through targeted and efficient appointments for initial and follow-up visits.
  • Educate clinic staff on the principles of mental healthcare via trainings and briefings.
