About the Position: This position is located in Schofield Barracks, Desmond T Doss Health Clinic in Hawaii.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements for Clinical Psychologist: Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.

or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Completion of an APA-accredited professional psychologist internship preferred.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below: Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: Performing behavioral health assessments and/or psychological testing, developing behavioral health treatment plans and/or recommendations, and providing treatment to behavioral health patients for an adult treatment population.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Special Placement Factor: Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S.

State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Provide individual and group therapy, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy.
  • Screen and interview patients, perform bio-psychological social evaluations using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to psychological counseling.
  • Provide evidence-based psychological assessments focusing on the interplay between physical health and mental well-being (e.g., chronic pain, oncology, sleep disorders, and cardiovascular health).
  • Evaluate overall effectiveness of therapeutic efforts, and institute changes to increase effectiveness of therapeutic efforts.
  • Act as a primary consultant for medical providers to optimize patient outcomes through integrated treatment plans.
  • Maintain timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record ensuring compliance with DHA, regulatory, and billing standards.
  • Present cases and provide training on evidence based methods to peers.
