Performs clinical laboratory procedures in clinical chemistry, micro-biology, hematology, immunohematology, urinalysis and phlebotomyOperates and maintains manual equipment and automated, computer controlled equipmentMaintains quality control statistical dataDraws blood for laboratory testing and processes specimensPerforms laboratory tests in each area of the laboratory on a rotation basisReports patients test results verbally and in writing to members of the medical and nursing staffsStains and interprets blood smears of other biological specimensTypes and cross matches blood for transfusionPrepares laboratory reagentsMonitors supply inventoriesMaintains laboratory logs and records Qualifications License Required: Possession of a valid license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist issued by the California State Department of Health.
