Summary

About the Position: This position is located with Defense Health Agency, Directorate of Behavioral Health , Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes managing administrative and management issuances; developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures, planning, developing, advising and recommending improvements in medical treatment facility.

his definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Human Resources, or Healthcare Administration; etc.

(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Major Duties:

  • Participate in the development of unit policies and procedures and incorporates them for decision making in clinical and management issues
  • Establish new, innovative and comprehensive programs that affect quality of care, improve care accessibility, and enhance the environment of care for patients and staff.
  • Monitor and ensures compliances in coding of clinical records to ensure accurate billing and workload reporting.
  • Develop budget and manages expenditures. Manages Operating Target (OPT AR) funds, staffing requirements, equipment requisitions and maintenance, and supplies.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure prospective contract health care providers are of the required skill levels.
  • Evaluate program and system effects on patient and environmental safety, care, accessibility and efficient business operations.
