About the Position: This position will be located in the Department of Psychiatry under Directorate of Behavioral Health, Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

(NOTE: You must attach copy of your transcripts)In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations for behavioral health patients, providing individual or group therapy, and formulating behavioral health interventions or treatment plans.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

AND Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.

• Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.
• Collect biopsychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods.
• Analyze information collected to identify symptoms and develop treatment plan.
• Provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans.
• Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated for adults and children.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis.
• Provide emergency on-call crisis management services for behavioral health cases and all other social work needs as designated by the section or department needs.
