Requirements

In this important role, your responsibilities will involve registering new consumers for transportation services and updating information for existing consumers.

You will be expected to maintain knowledge of various transportation funding sources as you determine eligibility for consumers and accurately complete required forms.

This position utilizes a computer and telephone to answer calls, make reservations, schedule trips, and appropriately route trips.

Effective organizational skills are essential as you maintain electronic and written records ensuring files are updated, legible and complete.

Developing and applying a good operational understanding of the Wayne County Transportation System is key for success in this role.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • May have irregular hours, including evenings, weekends or holidays
  • May have overnight travel or out of county travel for meetings or training
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.


Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
