Requirements

As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will be responsible for receiving and processing Building Plan submissions on a daily basis through the mail system, online GoPost portal, and in-person drop offs.

Work involves maintaining spreadsheets and storage of plan submissions, assisting with Optic System scanning processes, conducting extensive file research for all public requests, as well as reproducing architectural plans from microfilm.

Effective communication and a thorough knowledge of Bureau laws, regulations, forms, and fees are essential as you will be assisting the general public with questions concerning building plans, occupancy permits, and payment submission.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and distributing all mail sent to the Bureau and delivering to the respectable division
  • Processing incoming payments and entering them into the database
  • Processing requests for duplicate occupancy permits
  • Processing incoming building plans and drawings to be reviewed by the Plan Review Division

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
