The Department of Health is seeking a hardworking and detail-oriented Clerical Assistant 3 to join our staff in the Office of Drug Surveillance and Misuse Prevention.

As an integral member of our team in the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, you will help us prevent prescription drug abuse and protect the health and safety of our community.

Requirements

In this position, you will serve as a lead worker to the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program’s (PDMP) technical support service and provide clerical support to the program’s overdose prevention and response initiatives.

Your work will involve aiding external and internal customers by addressing incoming calls, emails, and letters regarding policy, procedures, and program operations.

You will answer calls regarding program registration, required participation, and available training, as well as determining if the call should be forwarded based on subject matter.

Some of your duties will include processing PDMP patient record and death review team requests, analyzing discrepancies, and making recommendations for redactions or corrections.

Additionally, you will track patterns of incoming issues, report them to the supervisor, and attend meetings relating to the resolution of issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. You will report to the office on Tuesday and Wednesday.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
