Full Job Description

The Department of Environmental Protection is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide primary clerical support to the Nuclear Safety Division of the Bureau of Radiation Protection, and other Divisions as needed. This position will also assist the supervisor in maintaining an efficient workflow in the department.

Requirements

In this position, the Clerical Assistant 2 will answer phones for the Radiation Protection Program and will provide basic information and/or channels calls to the appropriate staff member. You will also manage correspondence by preparing letters, emails and memos, including proofreading and formatting outgoing correspondence to ensure it adheres to the Department's Correspondence Manual. You will enter and maintain information databases, as well as organize and maintain an extensive filing system for Nuclear Safety about short and long-term storage files, including electronic files in the Nuclear Safety shared drive.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
