Requirements

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will function independently by completing various tasks within the Division without direct supervision. This includes drafting memos, letters, and other correspondence as directed for various staff members signatures. Handles routine administrative matters such as screening and directing phone calls to proper staff, as well as preparing and processing various types of forms (travel expense vouchers, out-service training, purchase orders, agency purchase requests, service purchase contracts, invoices for monitors, and production requests, etc.) Reviews and processes para educator applications submitted to the Bureau from district personnel for correctness and completeness. Once approved or rejected, you will be responsible for sending proper letters to the applicant.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week, (in office one day per week - Tuesday).

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
