Full Job Description

This position is located at Defense Finance and Accounting Service- Texarkana. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have semi-independent work experience, which includes the processing of a large payroll using an automated system.

Demonstrated ability to perform the duties as described above. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Ability to type 40 words a minute. Ability to operate calculator. ***Experiences must be clearly reflected on Resume to receive credit.*** Major Duties:

  • On a computer-based system, establishes and maintains individual time, leave, and earnings records of approximately 3000 salaried and hourly non-appropriated fund employees, civilian and military plus seasonal hires
  • Examines and verifies all pay action documents for accuracy, authority, completeness and conformance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Computations involve determination of pay due for differing pay schedules, entitlements, shiftwork, overtime, holiday pay, premium gratuities and their effect on other items in the account.
  • Balances output reports to appropriate source documents on a pay period, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Input payroll data from a variety of source documents into a computerized payroll system, which requires a knowledge of a variety of coding structures to process the various pay interrelationships involved.
