The Choose Iowa Program is growing and searching for a Marketing Specialist to be part of a dynamic team making a real impact.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is contract-covered and part of collective bargaining.
It reports to the Choose Iowa Program Director and works closely with the Communications and Accounting Teams in support of the mission of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
This is a Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week position with occasional weekends or evenings plus some travel, and is located in Des Moines at the Hoover Building.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain membership toolkit resources and materials. Maintain membership records including recruitment invitations and renewals and coordinate the membership renewal process.
Serve as central point of contact for members, timely maintaining and responding to member correspondence. Develop, assemble and distribute membership welcome/renewal packets and certificates.
Maintain and share program statistics at county and state level for various program aspects (number of participants, products available, farm stores, etc.) to monitor health and growth of the program.
Prepare technical reports of the program’s progress for various audiences including internal and Legislative use.
Travel throughout the state making public appearances and representing the Choose Iowa program at events, meetings, member visits and recruitment opportunities.
Develop and manage the state-wide Choose Iowa Passport program including annual passport setup, integration with the website, member participation and profile setup, promotional coupons and gamification incentives, launch communications and promotions planning and implementation, event coordination and itinerary planning, and passport program maintenance.
Develop and distribute host location resources including signage, communication and social media toolkits.
Monitor and track member participation in the Choose Iowa Passport and prepare summaries on participation utilization.
Coordinate prize acquisition from Choose Iowa member products and manage related point redemption and prize distribution. Manage passport prize budget.
Prepare and disseminate reports on passport performance.
Develop and implement educational opportunities and trainings for member education across the state to foster member business growth and development including Lunch & Learns, Coffee and Connection events, webinars, and other Choose Iowa hosted events.
Coordinate event location arrangements and setup, schedule speakers, set up virtual event details, ensure appropriate recordings, disseminate notes and follow-up.
Track event participation and prepare outreach event summaries.
Coordinate staffed and static exhibits and displays at tradeshows and events across the state focused on member recruitment and retention.
Plan and coordinate outreach event details and communications especially for events which enable member participation and promotion to enhance their business growth and expand access to markets and increase sales of Iowa ag products.
