This job involves advising on U.S.
policy toward China in the Indo-Pacific region, preparing briefings and materials for senior leaders, and supporting trips and strategic planning for the Navy and military command.
It requires deep knowledge of China's politics and military affairs to analyze issues and offer recommendations that shape U.S. strategies.
A good fit would be someone with experience in international relations, policy analysis, or government roles focused on Asia, who thrives in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
You will serve as a China Policy Manager in the Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with advanced knowledge of political-military affairs of the People's Republic of China, politics, and foreign policy.
Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Analyzing complex information, identifying key issues, and providing concise and actionable recommendations; 2) Developing materials such information papers, talking points and analyses for senior leads as it relates to current operations and strategies; 3) Demonstrating and applying knowledge of public issues, program operations, goals, management principles and practices, administrative laws, policies, regulations and precedents; 4) Offering solutions for novel or obscure issues not susceptible to typical methodology to positively impact the U.S.
in the Indo-Pacific Region; 5) Advising on policy matters related to political-military affairs.
