The primary purpose of this position is to serve as administrative support for Child and Youth Program to include customer service, monitoring customer entry, maintaining facility requirements in Fire, Health and Safety, cleanliness of the program, data automation, keeping up to date information in the CYPBMS system, financial record keeping, enrollment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-05 or equivalent in the Federal Service.

Specialized experience must include producing desired results, in the needed timeframe, with the appropriate level of supervision through the use of appropriate knowledge, skills, abilities and understanding of the technical requirements of the job.

Achieves, demonstrates and maintains the appropriate qualifications necessary to assume and execute key acquisition and/or support requirements.

Demonstrates skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing and solving complex issues, as appropriate.

Takes and displays personal accountability in leading, overseeing, guiding, and/or managing programs and projects within assigned areas of responsibility.

Work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality. Completed work meets project/program objectives. Leadership and/or supervision effectively promotes commitment to organization goals.

Flexibility, adaptability, and decisiveness are exercised appropriately.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of current directives requirements to provide clerical support for filing, posting publications, preparing forms, reports, and correspondence, and organizing the clerical and administrative operations.

Knowledge of early childhood development principles, concepts and governing administrative instructions and policies. Knowledge of money-handling procedures and analysis of fee collection procedures.

Skill in communicating effectively with adults and children, individually and in groups, both orally and in writing.

Ability to lead the work of others and to motivate, train, appraises, and works with subordinates with a variety of backgrounds. Also need to have the ability to learn computer equipment programs.

Ability to maintains accurate financial data and records for USDA Food Program, budget tracking, individual patron billing records and payroll for APF and NAF employees etc.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Assists with the assignment of work and taking reasonable steps to ensure employees understand what is expected.

Ensures that timecards are submitted for Appropriated and Non-Appropriated personnel within the Child Development Center.

In accordance with DAFI 34-144, Child and Youth Programs, enrolls children into appropriate child development program.

Computes and ensure parents are enrolled in Child Youth Programs Business Modernization System (CYPBMS) to run invoices for payments.

Performs other duties for continuous mission support in staff shortages to ensure smooth programs operations.
