Job Description

Key Requirements

- Experience as a child day care provider trainer
- Experience investigating high-risk child abuse or neglect cases
- Experience as a professional child day care or preschool education worker/teacher in pre-kindergarten to third grade programs
- Ability to conduct inspections, investigate complaints, provide technical assistance, initiate enforcement actions, and testify in hearings
- Willingness to travel and service counties in the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Region of Michigan

This position is responsible for state licensing of child care organizations including family and group child care homes and child care centers within a specified geographical area of the State. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, conducting state licensing inspections, investigate complaints, provider technical assistance and consultation to applicants/licensee, initiate enforcement action, testify in hearings, and consult with other professionals such as law enforcement, fire safety inspectors, and protective services representatives.This position will service the counties in the Upper Peninsula of the Northeast and UP Region.
