Requirements

This position is part of Region 1’s IGA/Support area located in Aurora CO.

This position receives and distributes supplies that consist of fuel, vehicle repair, safety tools, road building and construction, landscaping and snow removal parts for supporting a safe and efficient transportation system.

The position schedules weekly pick up of supplies for a very large customer base

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs stockroom maintenance including using a forklift to receive materials and other duties to maintain the cleanliness and order of the stockroom;
  • Maintains inventory checking stock levels using computer programs;
  • Performs in depth inventory once a year;
  • Researches best price for materials based on procurement rules and price agreements;
  • Checking outgoing orders for accuracy;
  • Get supply orders ready for pickup;
  • Process emergency orders;
  • Arrange substitutions when necessary;
  • Receives all supply orders to stockroom;
  • Checks materials against the invoices;
  • Stocks shelves;
  • Communicates with vendors to set up delivery schedules;
  • Attends yearly training at MTA;
  • Trains regularly on SAP, Maintenance, stockroom duties;
  • Abides by all safety regulations and wears all PPE for the job;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily work hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Occasional overnight travel for training and meetings.
  • Regular travel required during work hours to pick up propane for the forklift and to deliver supplies to other CDOT buildings.
  • Required to operate CDOT vehicles.
  • Required to lift up to 70 lbs. (e.g. tires, various automotive/equipment parts, paper, refuse bags, etc.)
  • Required to work with chemicals and cleaners.
  • Required to use ladder up to 15' in height

Qualifications

Experience Only:

Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position

OR

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years

Conditions of Employment:

  • A current valid driver license is required for all Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) positions that require operating a state or personal motor vehicle to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
