This Supply Technician - Non-Expendable (NX) position is for the Supply Chain Management Service of the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System located in Aurora, CO.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure non-expandable supplies and materials are distributed to areas serviced by the Supply Chain Management Service.
Assignments include but are not limited to: scanning, barcoding, receiving, storing, and distributing non-expendable equipment and materials.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/24/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-5 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Ensures data integrity/accuracy of the automated system of record.
Works with customers to resolve equipment management issues including receiving requests, clarifying user requirements, explaining delays, expediting deliveries and resolving problems.
Communicates with lead or supervisor on any concerns related to Electronic Inventory Listing (EIL), inventories, equipment and lifecycle management.
Performs non-expandable equipment bar coding on a predetermined schedule. Distributes items according to established or ad hoc requirements in computerized inventory management system.
OR, Education (Transcripts Required): Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years above high school.
OR, Combination (Transcripts Required): Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level.
You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the second year.
Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

Major Duties:
Major duties and responsibilities include: Provides clinics, service lines, and other hospital facilities with non-expandable equipment and material.
Reviews assigned manufacturers code and part numbers for continued validity and take necessary action to update, delete, or dispose of in accordance with published guidelines.
Distributes items according to established or ad hoc requirements in computerized inventory management system.
Performs research of old manufacturers code and part numbers, covering requisitioned material in support of jobs which have not occurred.
Ensures data integrity/accuracy in the automated system of record.
Utilizes computerized systems including bar-coding and automated inventory systems for the delivery and inventory control of equipment.
Work with customers to resolve equipment management issues including receiving requests, clarifying user requirements, explaining delays, expediting deliveries and resolving problems.
Communicates with lead or supervisor on any concerns related to Electronic Inventory Listing (EIL), inventories, equipment and lifecycle management.
Utilizes computerized systems including bar-coding and automated inventory systems for the delivery and inventory control of equipment Delivers equipment and materials timely, in an accurate manner and ensure equipment is delivered in an operational condition Work Schedule: 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
