Summary

This job is for a cashier at a club on a U.S. Air Force base in the UK, where you'll handle cash transactions, keep financial records accurate, and assist club members with sign-ups and event bookings.

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Galaxy Club, RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom. Scheduled shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays.

An applicant's eligibility will be determined based on eligibility claimed in the questionnaire and proof of eligibility MUST be provided with application by the closing date, 07/09/2026 The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement: Citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60-mile radius) of RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days.

Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces.

Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'.

A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces.

Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible experience in clerical duties of receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody or other processing of cash items, including direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability control methods.

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Skill in dealing with the public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your suitability and fitness for the position. Major Duties:

Applies official regulations to cash management and accountability. Performs routine cash receipt and disbursement. Performs daily cash reconciliation, balancing and auditing of receipts.

Ensures proper cash management via electronic and double-entry bookkeeping techniques. Troubleshoots routine actions by verifying audit trails and correcting errors.

Recognizes trends or other problems in cash management. Prepares bank deposits and follows proper procedures for handling of foreign currency.

Generates sales reports and processes daily financial data. Accepts and process club membership applications and advises members on club member benefits and membership programs.

Accepts reservations for club specialty programs and membership events. Maintains key controls. Assists in the control of the slot machine program.

In absence of the supervisor, conducts and documents weekly alarm checks, coordinates work operations, carries out training, advises staff of policies, procedures, and goals of management.
