We are looking for an experienced Building Trade/Construction Occupation Trades Teacher to join our staff of vocational teachers.
State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Huntingdon is one of many facilities in DOC that offer a variety of vocational programs to teach inmates valuable skills to use upon their re-entry into their communities.

In this position, you will provide vocational instruction in the construction trades to inmate students.
Your work will involve adapting curriculum materials to meet the needs of students based on screening and placement assessment results.
This will include developing teaching techniques and approaches in presenting materials, as well as following individualized lesson plans and planned courses.
You will provide classroom and shop instruction in a variety of building and construction trades such as building construction, electrical, plumbing, and heating in residential and commercials settings.
Some of your duties will also include assigning and evaluating homework, developing and administering tests, and providing final evaluations for enrolled students.
Additionally, you will monitor inmate behavior and establish classroom rules and procedures to maintain an effective learning environment.
