Requirements

Supervises and participates in the repair and maintenance of buildings; in addition to performing skilled building maintenance repair work, plans, lays out, schedules and assigns the work of building maintenance workers from work orders received by supervisors or project managers; instructs subordinates and demonstrates proper work methods; work alongside subordinates to set pace and quality of work; checks and inspect buildings, structures, equipment and facilities for needed repairs; estimates material and labor costs; requisition materials; inspects work in progress and upon completion for proper quality of work; makes oral and written reports of work completed by the crew; and perform other related duties as assigned.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK:

The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.


Experience and Training: SIX (6) YEARS of work experience in performing a variety of building maintenance repair work, of which TWO (2) YEARS shall have been as a fully competent worker (journey worker level), or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.

Special Requirement: Some positions require a Forklift Certification within 6 months from the date of hire. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
