Full Job Description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a wide range of analytical and technical advisory functions related to the budgetary process such as, but not limited to, performing budget adjustments, determining appropriations to be charged, and/or ensuring budget submissions meet requirements, guidelines, and management objectives.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Major Duties:

  • Serves as the S-8 Budget Officer for the assigned Recruiting Brigade (BDE), for the US Army Recruiting Command (USAREC).
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the budgetary functions of the BDE and its associated Battalions (BNs).
  • Develops, justifies, and executes budget based upon program plans, available resources, and sound knowledge of operational requirements, mission, and expenses required
  • Budget work supports the total BDE/BN programs and mission.
