This job involves leading a team to inspect bridges and structures, ensuring they meet safety standards and documenting any issues to keep Pennsylvania's roads safe.
You'll supervise staff, plan their work, and handle training while following strict safety rules.

As the Bridge Inspection Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a bridge inspection team and performing a variety of technical duties associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
Safety inspections will be conducted on existing bridges, including bridge structural members, foundations, supports, and components.
Comprehensive bridge inspection records detailing a wide-range of data, photographs, field sketches, and drawings must be well maintained and accessible.
Inspection records must also address critical findings regarding the current condition and deficiencies, and the NBIS required recording elements as mentioned in Pub 238.
General supervisory duties will involve planning, assigning, prioritizing, and evaluating the work of subordinates; planning training and development activities; and participating in the hiring process.
Within this role, it is essential to consistently adhere to all safety regulations and policies and immediately report any injuries or accidents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
Telework is not available within the first six months of employment.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
