About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Spartan Lanes Bowling Center, 423rd Force Support Squadron, RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom.

There are no guaranteed hours, but the incumbent may be expected to work a varying schedule, from 0-40 hours per week.

The position requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. NOTE: THIS IS A STANDING REGISTER ANNOUNCEMENT.

Applications will be reviewed and referrals made every two weeks throughout the open period. After the first five days, the announcement may close at any point during the open period.

NOTE: THIS IS A DEVELOPMENTAL POSITION WITH NON-COMPETITIVE PROMOTION POTENTIAL TO THE FULL PERFORMANCE LEVEL (FPL) UNDER POSITION NUMBER 423107, BOWLING EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, NA-4819-07.

THE INCUMBENT MAY BE PROMOTED TO THE FPL WHEN THE TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN MET. THE ELIGIBILITY PERIOD FOR PROMOTION TO THE FPL IS A MINIMUM OF SIX MONTHS AT THE DEVELOPMENTAL LEVEL.

In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

Dual US/UK citizens may apply for US NAF positions if they have a valid US passport. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME): Must have experience or training which provided a basic knowledge of minor mechanical and electrical systems and a general understanding of maintenance and repair work.

Knowledge of bowling equipment maintenance and repair is desirable. Major Duties:

1.

Assists in performing minor maintenance on bowling equipment, to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic ball cleaners, hole bores, and lane maintenance machines.

2. Assists with the cleaning and maintenance of bowling lanes, approaches, channels, pindecks, kickbacks, scoring tables, and ball returns. 3.

Assists with the maintenance of repair and inventory records pertaining to bowling facility equipment, supplies, and parts. 4. Performs other related work as assigned.
