This job involves maintaining and fixing bowling center equipment like pinsetters, ball returns, and lanes at a Navy base in Florida, including minor repairs and routine cleaning.

This position is located at Freedom Lanes Bowling, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL.
The purpose of this position is to correct all minor malfunctions of the automatic pinsetter and to assist the mechanic in a formal preventative maintenance and repair program of the bowling facility equipment which include pinsetters, ball returns, bumpers, scoring, lanes, ball cleaners and lane maintenance machines along with other bowling center equipment.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must have manual dexterity necessary to make minor corrective adjustments to machinery and replace fixtures.
Must have skill in the use of common hand tools and the ability to perform limited preventive maintenance such as cleaning and oiling equipment and conditioning lane surfaces.
Must be able to use common cleaning materials and equipment and to safely operate and adjust bowling equipment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Major Duties:
General (Duties include but are not limited to): Makes minor corrective adjustments to bowling alley machinery as necessary.
Clears ball and pin jams, repairs/replaces foul lights, and performs periodic preventive maintenance on automatic handling equipment such as ball cleaning machines, cleaning turn around pans, ball elevators, and cross conveyors on pinsetters.
Assists with maintaining stock levels and keeping records on spare parts for automatic pinsetter and mechanical equipment.
Replaces burned out fuses and light bulbs and assists in replacement of electrical fixtures if required. Cleans, oils and conditions lane surfaces.
May sweep and mop floors, dust furniture and fixtures, clean walls and rest rooms. Collects and removes trash. Advises supervisor/manager of unusual maintenance problems.
Performs other related duties as required.
