This internship involves learning how to manage King County's bond financing program, including researching funding options, analyzing spending and interest rates, and helping improve processes for using bond money to support community priorities.

The Bond Analyst Intern will learn the fundamentals of administering the County’s bond program, including options for financing key priorities, management of available resources, and work on process improvement for administering county bond proceeds.
The King County Executive Office’s Budget Team is hiring interns to work with several different sections within the office.Interns will gain a firsthand understanding of the workings of government, get an overview of how projects, policies, and legislation are created and implemented, understand why civic engagement matters, and build an appreciation for the importance of public service.
Depending on the assignment, interns may interact with a wide variety of people including staff, elected officials, community members, or program participants.
Interns will have the opportunity to be part of a high-performing team and take advantage of County training and learning opportunities.
Opportunities to engage as an intern cohort, network and connect with leaders across the organization, and participate in outings to various County operations add to the intern experience on the Executive Budget Team.

To support this vision, the Executive Budget team serves as a resource to the County's departments and agencies in developing and implementing budgets, financial plans, and policies.

Research ways for the County to fully utilize the AAA Rating to meet the Executive’s priorities.
Help craft guidance and process documentation on use of bond proceeds.
Develop detailed analysis on spending, interest rates and use of funding.
Support the Interdepartmental Debt Team (IDT), including helping prepare for and attending agency compliance meetings, and early development of the fall bond financing documentation.
