This job is for the chief engineer and second-in-command on a 110-foot research vessel in Juneau, Alaska, where you'll operate and maintain the ship's engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, plumbing, and navigation tools to keep it safe for fisheries research trips.
It involves a lot of time at sea during spring and summer, working with a small crew to support studies on crabs, fish, and shrimp.
It's a great fit for someone who loves hands-on mechanical work on boats, thrives in challenging weather, and wants to contribute to Alaska's fishing industry while enjoying sea pay and team-based adventures.
This position is open to Alaska Residents only.
