Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing counseling and therapy to people facing mental health challenges, addictions, family issues, and other life stresses, both in an office setting and out in the community.

It requires assessing clients' needs, creating treatment plans, and helping them make positive changes through individual or group sessions.

A good fit would be someone with a counseling background who speaks Arabic fluently and enjoys working directly with diverse clients to support their emotional well-being.

Key Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or related field from an accredited institution
  • Licensed as LPC/MHSP, LCSW, or LMFT in Tennessee
  • Three years of experience in counseling using evidence-based therapies like CBT, Trauma-Based CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, or Attachment Therapy
  • Fluency in Arabic (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on client needs
  • Experience conducting intakes, assessments, and referring clients to appropriate services

Full Job Description

This position will help individuals deal with complex and comorbid diagnosis which may include serious persistent mental health illness, addictions, and substance abuse; family, parenting, marital problems, and challenges with social drivers of health; suicide; stress management; problems with self-esteem; and issues associated with aging, physical, mental, and emotional health by providing therapeutic/Counseling services.

Requirements

Perform face-to-face intake for consumers who have been referred to MPHD and assess for care management, medication management or therapy eligibility.Complete all intake evaluation paperwork: initial intake, and grief assessment.Determine an individual’s appropriateness for care management, medication management or therapy and assign as appropriate.Utilize evidence based therapeutic framework, to provide counseling for consumers and patients, individually and group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life and making changes.Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed to comply with changes in consumer’s status.Learn about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, establishing, and maintaining contact with other clinicians.Provide clinical counseling services to family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with and supporting consumers.Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling services and consumers’ progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.Refer patients, consumers, or family members to case managers or to other specialists as necessary.Meet with all stakeholders to share necessary information during the treatment process.Collaborate with staff members, and all other stakeholders and referral sources as assigned to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.

Qualifications Graduation from an accredited (4) four-year college or university and three (3) years of responsible, full-time employment in public health administration, public health sanitation, public health nursing, public health education, business administration or another appropriate field.ORGraduation from an accredited master’s degree program in the public health or administrative field.

Additional Information Fluency in Arabic: Read, Write, Speak.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Master’s degree or Ph.D.

from an accredited college or university and two (2) years’ experience in Counseling.

Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Social Work, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university.

Three years of experience with counseling, therapeutic using: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Based CBT, Solution Focus Therapy, Attachment Therapy or any other evidence based therapeutic model.

Licensed with either LPC/MHSP, LCSW or LMFT in the state of TN.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
