About the Position: This position is located at the 72nd Medical Group, Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma.

Basic Requirement for Behavioral Health Case Manager: Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.

This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating multi-disciplinary health care plans for patients, and monitoring/evaluating patient care plans to make adjustments as needed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Function as the expert behavioral health case manager on a multidisciplinary team, communicating with treating facilities, other medical teams, and behavioral clinic staff to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Develop patient treatment plans by conducting complex assessments, analyzing resources, coordinating medical services, implementing therapeutic strategies, tracking patient progress, and making recommendations to healthcare professionals.
  • Manage behavioral health programs for the Medical Treatment Facility, making recommendations for program enhancements through data analysis.
  • Utilize program resources effectively, ensuring needs of clients and community are met.
  • Conduct training, counseling, and clinical assistance on behavioral health case management techniques to staff.
  • Liaison with local, state, and federal agencies to develop guidelines that improve patient access to programs.
