Job Description

Summary

This job is for a bartender at a bar on a U.S.

Army base in Alaska, where you'll mix and serve drinks, handle customer payments, keep the bar stocked and clean, and manage other staff while ensuring safety by spotting and handling intoxicated patrons.

It's a hands-on role in a busy environment that requires good people skills and physical stamina.

A good fit would be someone with prior bartending experience who enjoys working in a team and staying calm under pressure.

Full Job Description

This position is located at Chinook Winds Bar & Grill on Fort Greely, Alaska. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1.

Must meet state/local age requirements (18) for the serving of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment. 2. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. 3.

Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills, make change and take inventory. 4. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. 5.

Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff. 6. Ability to recognize intoxicated and unruly patrons and take necessary remedial action. 7.

Skill in recognizing impending shortages of inventory. Major Duties:

  • Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.
  • Keeps records of quantities of beverages dispensed and submits requirement for re-stocking to supervisor.
  • Stocks bar. Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary.
